Interview MP

Next up in our interview series is Mathew Pritchard. Playing on the defense Pritch is often leading the team on defensive stats making his case to be an offensive player even harder. When he does get a chance to play offense he proves that he can play either side of the ball and put a shift in. Find out how he felt our rookie season went and what his goals are for the upcoming season.
You had a part in setting up the club along with Lewis, Coach & Keates. How do you think our rookie year went?
I don’t think it could of gone any better, we’ve developed massively as a team and come along way since our first game in the jaguars 7s tournament when we couldn’t even make a tackle, fun times! But yeah, definitely great progress and a lot of it is to do with Lewis and Mel, so hats off to them.

You were captain last year, this year we have a new captain. How do you think Dean will do? Have you got any advice for him?
Dean will be a great captain, and doesn’t really need any advice. He will lead by example and no undoubtedly give 110% on the pitch every game we play.

Currently you hold the record for most rushing yards in a single game, you play on the defense are you hoping to get a few plays on the offense this season?
I’m happy to play either side of the ball as I know we have strong offensive and defensive players. I see myself and Matt M very versatile in what we can do so we will do whatever we can to make sure the team win.

What are your goals for this season?
My goals are simple, to make sure we win, gain promotion and develop more under new coach Dan who is doing a fantastic job.

Who on the team should we watch out for this season?
It’s hard to say who to watch out for because every player has there strengths, but if I had to say a name it would be Matt M as he didn’t really get to play with us much last year due to work but it’s looking promising he will be with us most of the season.

What teams are you looking forward to playing this season?
Anyone. It doesn’t matter the team we will still turn up and beat them.... MIC DROP
