Interview JS

Next up in our interview series we have Jake Shaw. You'll often find Jake out running defenders and getting on the end of some incredible passes from our quarterbacks. Find out how Jake feels preseason is going and what to expect from him and the team in the upcoming BAFA season.
Rumour has it you’re the fastest man alive is that true or just a rumour?
Haha I'm not sure about the fastest man alive but I've definitely got some wheels! I think the gruelling fitness in pre season has helped me find a few extra gears! I'm more than happy to accept any challengers in a 40 yard dash though .

You & Lewis have a relationship on the pitch that can compete with the Tibbles brothers. What can we expect from the two of you this season?
Yeah I think we have definitely found a rhythm now and he puts the ball where I'm gonna be. I can't wait to open up my legs this year and test just how far he can throw it! I'm expecting big things from all our offense this year! Tibbles who?

We’ve got Danny as new head coach & Dean as captain. What do you think they’ll both bring to their new roles at the club?
I can't stress just how good training has been since Dan took over. The whole team is fitter, faster and sharper than I ever thought possible! Even Lewis. Dean was the natural choice for captain for me! He leads by example on and off the pitch and I can't remember a Revs night out where he wasn't the last man standing! Two great picks in my eyes!

Preseason is in full swing! How’s it going?
Preseason has been tough but really enjoyable. I think we have really taken our game to the next level over the past couple of months!

We’ve got a great bunch of lads on the team who should we watch out for this season?
For me there have been two stand out players in preseason and I expect them to continue that form into BAFA! Mathew Meir and Pookie Bear Pritchard! Two of the best defenders in the league for me and as Dean always loves to say, Defence wins championships!!!

The BAFA season starts on the 14th April against Wigan Bandits & Cheshire Cavs. Who else are you looking forward to playing this season?
I'm really looking forward to playing Oldham this year! They look like they have a strong squad and I always relish playing against quality opposition.
