Interview AR

Next up in our interview series is our very own Gronkowski Aiden Rogers. Aiden only joined mid way through last year and has become a massive part of the offense. Find out how he feels joining the team late on and what we can expect from him and the team this season.
You joined the team late last year, how did you find coming into the team late on?
I found coming on to the team great! The lads were so welcoming when I joined and they made me feel like I fit right in straight away. Any people that are thinking of joining should have no doubt because they are a great bunch of lads (and lass).

We’ve got Danny Meir as our head coach how are his training sessions going?
Danny’s training sessions are great so far, he’s coming up with new exciting drills all the time that are really challenging the lads and it’s gives every training session a fresh new feel to it! When he puts in catching drills I can’t complain really haha!

There's only a couple of weeks left until the season starts. How's preseason going so far?
Preseason is going great in my opinion, the lads are really putting in the hard work to make sure we are better than we were the year before. There is still stuff we need to work on but that’s what pre season is for and I’m sure coach will have us ready for the start of the season!

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My goals really are just to be the best I can be for the team all year round! I’d obviously like to get as many touchdowns as possible this year and hopefully win some silverware with the team!

Who on the team do you think we should watch out for this season?
I think the Meir twins are the ones to look out for this year, Danny Meir having to adapt to centre will certainly test him but he’s more than capable of playing that role. Matty Meir is a key part to the defence and its always stronger when he’s there, I think we will see quite a few pick sixes from him this year!

What teams are you looking forward to playing this season?
I’m looking forward to playing everyone really, in my short time on the team I’ve got to know Wigan quite well and always like playing them for obvious reasons... but it’s never easy against them and I’m sure they will make it tough for us this year!
